After making war as a civil trial advocate for over 20 years, Alan now makes peace. He only mediates today, so your dispute has his undivided attention.

Before becoming a mediator, Alan’s civil trial advocacy veered into many areas. Both sides of the civil trial docket are no stranger to Alan. He’s prosecuted the case for plaintiffs; he’s held the line for defendants. From it, Alan got his objectivity.

Alan has already brought his objectivity to bear in mediation. He’s successfully mediated civil trial disputes over employment, contracts, business disputes, real estate, construction, fraud, probate and personal injuries.

Alan knows the Houston area legal community, down deep. He’s practiced civil trial law in Montgomery County since 2006. Today, he serves in his second term as Montgomery County Bar President. In 2023, 2024 and 2025, Alan secured the speakers for Law Day – including nearly every judge at the courthouse.

The jury pool in Montgomery County is a particularly known quantity to Alan. Outside the civil courtroom, Alan has engaged citizens as a winning campaign manager. And he’s written about it for Texas Lawyer twice.

But Alan has darkened the doors of other courtrooms too. For over 13 years, Alan’s litigation practice routinely led him to federal court in Houston. He even found himself in federal court in Dallas and Midland/Odessa. He’s also practiced in Harris County for 16 years.

As a civil trial advocate, Alan had his peers’ and opponents’ respect. Super Lawyers selected Alan for its Rising Stars list every year from 2012 to 2018 when he aged out.

Also back in his advocate days, Alan routinely shared his practical experience speaking and writing. And he’s back at it today. Alan talks and writes about legal ethics.

The Dispute Resolution Center for Montgomery County has a special place with Alan. He’s volunteered there consistently since starting his mediation practice.

After mediation work is done, Alan likes to live. He lifts weights, boxes, swims, runs, enjoys live music and grills in his backyard. He loves his wife and two girls. Alan is also very involved with his church family at Hope Church Montgomery. There, he works with the kids’ ministry — about his maturity level sometimes. He and his wife disciple kids to go on mission with kid-led vacation Bible school.
